Today, as the Church of San Francisco, we unite, asking, You, Heavenly Father, to birth a new spiritual awakening in San Francisco and the Bay Area based on the promises of God for the full redemption of our city.  We choose life today, and will not align with decrees written or spoken over our city that stand contrary to Your Word.  Father, we are asking for a restoration of relationship between the generations: reconciling the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that the blessings of one generation will be passed on to the next as You intend.  

Let there be a new awakening and restoration of the arts to their rightful place in worship, and to proclaim Your glory to the nations.  Let a new sound from heaven be released through revelation to your sons and daughters, that will bring fresh manifestations of God, drawing men to You for the advancement of Your Kingdom. We the Church of San Francisco, being called to walk in covenant relationship and the bond of peace, choose to forgive and embrace one another.  By this love demonstrated, the world will know that You Father, have sent Your Son. Father, we acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ Your Son, over San Francisco and the State of California, and today choose to stand in covenantal agreement with the authority of Your Word to invoke the truth of Your counsel. Amen  

The Blessing of San Francisco’s Redemptive Gift

San Francisco: City of mercy & light, we call you forth today to your destiny & purpose in God. You were founded as a Mission to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the inhabitants of the land: a missionary city full of the love & mercy of God poured out to the broken & downtrodden. San Francisco, you were named after Saint Francis of Assisi who forsook a life of indulgent pleasures & fleshly excesses, to pursue a life of mercy, love & power in the Holy Spirit. Go forth to the nations in that same power: bring deliverance to those held captive, preach the gospel of the Kingdom, heal the sick, and proclaim the Lord’s favor to all generations, tribes and tongues.

SAN FRANCISCO’S PRAYER OF REPENTANCE & Forgiveness

Lord, we repent for the rebellion loosed against God, our parents, our government, society, and its moral standards in the so called Summer of Love 1967. We call for true governmental order based on your Law, in honor and respect for those in authority and all people.

Lord, we repent for seeking after spiritual experiences & other gods through the use of drugs and occult practices, instead of coming humbly to You. We welcome the Holy Spirit and ask that You loose through the Church, a mighty renaissance of new life, art, music, inventions and ideas that shall advance Your Kingdom.

We repent for using Your wonderful gift of music as a vehicle to promote and proliferate rebellion, drugs, and unholy sex into our culture and the nations of the world with what was called ‘San Francisco Sound.’ We thank you for releasing the new song of the Lord and the Voice of God through music once again.

Lord, we repent for thinking we could find real love, peace and freedom apart from you. We repent for worshipping creation more than you, the Creator, and for spiritually running after other gods. Forgive us for sanctioning the killing of our own offspring in the name of personal freedom. 

Father, we repent for our intellectual pride in trying to create a utopia of peace, truth and freedom without You. Only You can rid us of divisions and make us one NEW man, bringing true peace, in order that we might live as free people; not using our freedom as a cloak for evil, but living as servants of God.

Father, we repent for not recognizing and honoring the original stewards of this land, the Native peoples, and the reason for which You placed them here. We ask you to bring real restoration of relationship and a yoking together in Your eternal purposes, that we might all partake of Your fullness.

Lord, we choose to forgive those, who in ignorance or rebellion embraced a false spiritual awakening, which brought deception and bondage to the youth of that day, and has been passed down through the generations. We ask for a true spiritual awakening brought about by an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in truth, love, mercy, and power.

Father, we choose to forgive those who teach that we can find spirituality independent of You. Forgive us for valuing self-awareness & self-gratification above knowing & pleasing you. We ask you to grant us true revelation and the fear of God.

Lord, we choose to forgive all who unwittingly or knowingly worshipped a sound that welcomed other gods into our culture. Grant us pure sounds of true worship that will spread throughout our land.

Father, we choose to forgive all who worship their own bodies & other created things, opening doors of idolatry and perverse passions. We acknowledge you as Creator, worthy of all worship. Grace us to honor your sacred design for intimacy between a man and a woman in bonds of covenantal love.

Lord, we choose to forgive all who led us into rejecting our parents & their values: dishonoring them & the sacrifices they made for us, ultimately dividing the generations & the blessings You intended to be passed from one to the next.

Lord, we choose to forgive all who released counterfeit truths exalting unrestrained personal freedom that led to bondage and death. We forgive our mayor, and all who have participated in embracing these things, and bless them that they might receive the knowledge of truth in a personal revelation of Jesus Christ.
