This day shall be to you for a memorial; you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations – as an ordinance forever. Ex. 12:14
When the hour had come, Jesus reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. And He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” Luke 22:14-16
The feast of the Passover has been celebrated by the Jews for thousands of years. Our early Church fathers ,the first Christians also celebrated Passover .
It is the remembering of the great story of their redemption from bondage in Egypt & it’s climax: the Passover Lamb sacrificed; its blood put on the doorposts of each home as an act of faith in obedience to God. So the Lord passed over them when He visited a final judgment of death upon the first born of Egypt.
The liturgy of the Passover Seder overflows with symbolism of our redemption from slavery to sin through Jesus’ sacrifice. THE LAST SUPPER, WHICH HE ATE WITH HIS DISCIPLES WAS THE PASSOVER MEAL.
The Seder observance with scriptural teaching lasts approx 1½ hours. Following this we will share a meal together
